Not as close as you might think! I took this using a 70-300mm lens through wire mesh. At a low aperture and manual focus, I managed to completely remove the mesh, and obtain what is probably one of my best 35mm photographs (and I am somewhat pleased that I've been able to retain it in the HTML 5 rebuild of the collection).
