Because of Covid, this was my first standard-gauge steam photography session since October 2019. Having only confirmed the tour was running earlier that morning, I decided to try to photograph the down working as it crossed the River Avon east of Evesham; a location I had scouted earlier in the year. However, thanks to a rather wet May, the location was somewhat overgrown, and I abandoned the idea of a wide shot in favour of a closer view of the locomotive as it crossed the bridge. Even then, the best shot still had some vegetation in it, some of which I removed, and this is perhaps not one of my better steam photographs.
However, I also managed to photograph the return leg at Bredon (See "Trains in the Landcape"), and I think I did a better job there.
