I had hoped that I would be photographing the railway's GWR 4575 class no. 5541 on this visit, but realised it was in the yard when I got to Norchard.  Since the railway's 8750 class no. 9681 was out of traffic, I began to wonder what locomotive was in steam that day, especially as the whistling noises I'd heard earlier didn't sound very Great Western.  I had forgotten that "Wilbert" was also back in traffic, and was pleasantly surprised to find it on duty, especially since I think this the first time I have photographed the locomotive since 1996 (or  thereabouts - I'm pretty certain I'd not photographed it in the 21st Century prior to this point).

The locomotive is seen arriving at Norchard, with a Parkend-bound train.  It is named after the Rev W. Awdry, author of the "Thomas the Tank Engine" series of books.
