"Gordon" is a War Department locomotive dating from the Second World War,  and was formerly on the Longmoor Military Railway before coming to the Severn Valley Railway.  The locomotive is named after General Charles Gordon, of  Khartoum (and nothing to do with the "Thomas the Tank Engine" character of the same name).
