P62198 - GWR 5542, Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway - Lineside - Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway

Seen here just south of Gotherington, with a Cheltenham-bound train on the first weekend of the railway's 2014 season.  This was taken from a footpath running parallel to the line just off Manor Lane, to the south of the village; the location can be accessed via a series of footpaths from Gotherington Halt, or by the road from  the halt to the village (the latter can be quite busy at times, the former can be quite muddy at times, and livestock can be encountered as well).

This was a first for me as I have never photographed in this area before; in fact I had never used Gotherington Halt before this session (I think I may have been the only person to use the halt during the entire day).  Having bought shares in "Bridges to Broadway" share issue, I now had some free travel vouchers for the line, and decided to use one on the first operational weekend of the season.  I also decided that I wanted to check out the Gotherington area with a view to having a session here during the 2014 "Cotswold Steam Festival" (which I didn't actually manage in the end), and this photograph was part of the last sequence I took before returning to the halt to catch the return working of the above train.  It was taken from a footbridge over a stream; fortunately no one wanted to use it when the train was passing (probably because the fields the footpath crossed were still somewhat muddy after the rains of the previous couple of months).
