I had initially wanted to do an experiment "High" shot this working, using my monopod as an improvised extension pole, with remote release used to trigger the shutter. However, I had concerns that I would affect someone else's photography doing this, so went "Low" instead, using the fence to frame the locomotive (I don't think there's any doubt on this one as to which side of the fence I was).
I don't think this has worked too badly, but the image is a little blurred around the buffer beam. I also found that there was an annoying piece of vegetation in front of one of the driving wheels, which I did eventually manage to remove.
