This was the first arrival at Broadway on the first day of the 2022 operating season and was already 45 minutes late at this point, a good portion of this being spent just beyond the curve in the distance.
My plan for the day was to take the train from Broadway to Toddington and then walk back to Broadway, with a view to catching a later service back to Toddington, returning by train to Broadway. Because I was expecting a muddy walk, this plan would mean that I could return to my car for a change of footwear prior to boarding another train and avoiding getting mud from my boots into the carriages. How this worked out will be explained later in the collection.
