This was taken just north of the halt. The waterway in the foreground is the remains of Pidcock's Canal which the railway crosses at this point.
Because of the Covid situation, this was my first visit to the railway since the 2019 diesel gala, and only the second time in two years that I had travelled by train, having caught this train's earlier working from Norchard to Lydney Junction (my first train journey had been on the Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway the previous Sunday). I had taken a gamble on the weather over the weekend by pre-booking a ticket for the Saturday, and although the weather was very overcast on the Saturday, it did seem that the Sunday weather was going to be worse. High ISO ratings were, for the most part, the order of the day.
