Seen during the Winter Steam Gala 2024 event, from outside the Engine House.  The locomotive is in Southern Railway Wartime Black livery with the locomotive's original Southern Railway number applied; this livery is not historically accurate for the locomotive in its rebuilt condition as the rebuild occurred during British Railways days.

The number is partially derived from its wheel configuration (a system used in Europe): "2" for the two leading wheels (two on each side, making four), "1" for the one (two) trailing wheel, "C" representing three (six) driving wheels and 127 being the locomotive's actual number.  This numbering system was only really used by the Southern Railway on steam locomotive designs by Oliver Bulleid, and under British Railways the locomotives were assigned numerical-based numbers.
