Stourhead
Stourhead is a National Trust property in Wiltshire, located at the source of the River Stour (hence the name) which flows south from the gardens into Dorset. The property was bought by Henry Hoare in 1717, and most of what visitors see here dates from that time onwards, with Henry and his descendants building the house and gardens seen today.
The collection order is based around the location numbering on the map in the leaflet supplied to me by reception on my visit (The guidebook uses a slightly different numbering system), going round the gardens in a clockwise direction. I have, however, put the house photographs at the start of the collection, rather than after the stableyard ones as per the numbering system.
