"Battle of Evesham" Re-enactment 2026
Photographs from both days of the event. Included are the parade and Cavalry demonstrations from the Saturday, and the single combat tourney and battle re-enactment from the Sunday. A TV historian makes a brief appearance as well.
A slight improvement over the 2025 event in that I did get to photograph a battle re-enactment. However, the position I chose was not the most favourable, and for the most part all I could see was the Royalist line. I also suspect that due to the temperatures, the battle was not as energetic as in previous years. The cavalry re-enactment threw out another issue with backgrounds: not only did I have to contend with a non-medieval leisure centre, I had a non-medieval building site as well. As a result, those photographs have required quite a bit of extra work to eliminate, or at least reduce the issue.
I also did a session on the Vale of Evesham Historical Society's stand on the Sunday morning. This time round I was able to get away on time, and managed to shoot the single-combat tourney demonstrations, which yet again have filled in for a lack of battle photographs.
