This was one of the guest locomotives for the 2026 "Cotswold Festival of Steam" event, and this was only occasion I photographed during the weekend. I briefly saw it again the Winchcombe the next day, and the locomotive was not rostered on the Monday.
The locomotive was built in 1876 for the Great Eastern Railway (a constituent company of the LNER, hence its addition to this collection), but was sold in 1917 to the Admiralty. As a result, it never made it into either LNER or BR service, and I've ordered it by its GER number instead.
