P41749 - LMS Class 5MT "Black 5" no. 45110 - LMS Steam Locomotives

45110 was one of last few of its class in operation and worked the first and last legs of the final BR steam passenger train on August 11th, 1968.   It is seen preparing to run its first passenger service for the "Cotswold Festival of Steam" event, and I took this train to Broadway and back to Gotherington.

This was a last-minute addition to the line-up for the event (so last-minute it's listed as "Mystery Locomotive" in the event brochure; I only discovered its presence when I went to download the timetables the previous evening).  I didn't even realise it was any near operational; the last time I saw it was in 2019 in the Engine House on the Severn Valley Railway (which this photograph replaces an image of).  The SVR sold the locomotive in 2023, and any complaints I may have had about this were blown away when I saw it in steam at Toddington.
